Connections are at the core of everything we do at Facebook. We work to keep our local community strong because we value relationships with our surrounding neighbors.
Facebook in the Community local outreach includes:
We take our responsibility to the local community very seriously. That means being respectful and thoughtful about how we approach issues such as transportation, housing and the environment – and supporting people in the area through initiatives they tell us matter most. As Facebook continues to grow – we recognize the strain this places on our neighbors. We commit to be an open, transparent partner working with our neighbors to make the local communities all they can be.
Facebook is dedicated to giving back to the local community. A total of five community festivals will be hosted on campus to showcase quality farmers, artisans, locally-sourced food & beverages, music, family-friendly entertainment and much more. Each event will help fundraise & support a variety of nonprofits who service the neighborhoods surrounding Facebook’s Menlo Park campus.
Facebook strives to address the issues related to lack of access to fresh, locally-grown produce in the Bay Area. We have sourced a “Farmers Market on Wheels” which procures produce, directly from local farmers to sell at locations throughout the Bay Area. Our goal is to serve affordable food to communities where fresh, quality produce is not easily accessible.
